Below are the answers to the questions:
- Does the game work everywhere?
As long as your GPS receiver works, you can use RealReplay everywhere on the whole world. To download races of opponents or to share your own tracks, you also need a network that supports GPRS. - How do I have to configure GPRS?
RealReplay was optimized to use an optimized data transfer protocol so that you do not have to pay a fortune for downloading and uploading races. Therefore, the game does not use WAP, but needs real socket communication (web). Please take a look at the manual of your mobile phone and/or your network operator for instructions on how to set up a web access point. Also make sure that GPRS is activated so that RealReplay can use it. - Specifying the correct GPRS access point for the midlet
Most mobile phones can manage multiple access methods for data transfer. Therefore, you have to configure which one RealReplay can use. Choose the web/internet access point.
On Siemens phones, you have to go to the RealReplay menu entry, open the menu and choose "Options" -> "HTTP Profile". In the following screen, select the web/internet access point. - What to enter for the server settings?
The IP and port of the public RealReplay server will be made available at the official release of the game. Until then, please contact us. - The mobile phone is asking security related questions. What to select?
As a standard security mechanism, J2ME-games are not allowed to connect to the internet, to a bluetooth device or to send messages without your explicit permission. For maximum comfort, always choose the longest option available. For the Bluetooth-connection to the GPS receiver, select "Always allow". For the internet connection, at least "Allow for session" should be activated. Sending an SMS can only be allowed once. If your phone asks two times, this is just an additional security question - the game will still only send one message. - How do I connect to the Bluetooth GPS receiver?
Make sure that your Bluetooth GPS receiver is switched on and go to the options menu of RealReplay. Go to the localisation settings and the Bluetooth GPS option. The device will start searching for all Bluetooth devices nearby. When your GPS receiver is visible, select it. The game will try to connect to it and - if successful - save the device. To test if the connection to the receiver works, it's best if you start recording a track. The game will automatically connect to the GPS receiver. - What's the accuracy of the recorded tracks?
The accuracy of the recorded location data depends on your GPS receiver and your surroundings. The GPS device needs a clear view of the sky to receive the signals of the satellites. In cities with large buildings, the accuracy will be lower than on the countryside where nothing disrupts the GPS signals. The checkpoints do not have to be hit exactly, but instead have a tolerance radius to circumvent the accuracy problems of GPS. RealReplay records your position every three seconds to limit the amount of data. - The game doesn't continue at "Waiting for location data"
If everything is ok with your Bluetooth receiver and the connection, this can be the result of a bug in the Bluetooth implementation of your mobile phone. Please restart the phone and try again. - My Siemens phone reports an "Internal Bluetooth Error"
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do against that. This is an error of the Bluetooth implementation on your mobile phone. - The game doesn't start on my phone.
Please make sure that you have one of the compatible devices listed on the download page. If you do, please apply a firmware upgrade to the latest version - the game demands a lot of your phone, unfortunately especially earlier versions of phones are often quite buggy.
